The heart and vision of the Music Ministry at Northridge is aligned with that of the church as a whole:  exalting the Savior, equipping the saints, and evangelizing the sinner – all through God’s wonderful gift of music.  We are all prayerfully grateful that ours is a singing and musical faith!  Brother Kristin seeks to offer opportunities for everyone to participate in the Music Ministry. 

Music Requests
Music Ministry Notebooks have been placed on a music stand beside the sanctuary organ.  Members and visitors alike are invited to use these notebooks to request music hymns, volunteer or request individual special music, and offer any comments or suggestions regarding the church’s Music Ministry.  Of course, Brother Kristin is always available as well.

Music Committee 
This group consists of a Chairperson and five additional church members.  It meets periodically in order to discuss matters related to the Music Ministry at NBC.  The current members of the Music Committee are:  Josh Scoville (Chairman), Kerri Altman, Angela Freeman, Candy Morris, Lorenda Williamson, and Suzanne Worsham.

Individual Special Music
Many of our worship services include an individual special.  Varying from contemporary praise hymns to Southern gospel standards, individual specials help to focus the entire congregation on the worship at hand.  If you are interested in singing or playing special music, please sign up using the Music Ministry Notebooks beside the organ sanctuary, or see Brother Kristin.

Music Ensembles – Church Orchestra
This group consists of school band instruments such as flute, clarinet, saxophone, etc.  Focusing on simple yet enjoyable arrangements of traditional church hymns, this ensemble seeks to praise God through sound.  Rehearsals are held Sunday at 5:00 PM in the sanctuary.

Music Ensembles – Praise Band/Choir
This group consists of both singers (of all ages) and instrumentalists (drums, guitar, keyboard, etc.).  Focusing on more contemporary praise hymns, this ensemble seeks to praise God through sound and song.  Rehearsals are held Sunday at 5:30 PM in the sanctuary.

Adult Choir
This group consists of adult singers, singing a variety of worship songs from traditional to Southern Gospel to more recent compositions.  Rehearsals are held Wednesday evening immediately following the Mid-Week Prayer Service.

Children’s Church Choir
As part of their weekly Sunday morning Children’s Church, the children sing a variety of songs which they periodically present to the congregation during our Sunday morning worship service.

Sign Language Troupe
This group consists of youth members with varying levels of experience with the beautiful communicative art of sign language.  The group focuses on learning and presenting sign language accompanying various musical presentations.  Rehearsals are held Wednesday nights.

Special Programs
Although most of our Music Ministry groups are practicing and performing year-round, there is a heightened level of activity during the Christmas season.  Specifically, we have a Sunshine Choir, Hallelujah Choir, and Youth Choir presenting Christmas cantatas/musicals each year.  There are also special musical selections for other holidays/events including Mothers’ Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and so forth.

Instrumentalists
We are blessed to have very talented and dedicated instrumentalists.  Jessica Tribble, Linda Walker, and Youvette Hudson provide beautiful accompaniment to hymns and specials, as well as performing alone on offertory and other specials.

Audio-Visual Technicians
We seek to provide a worshipful experience for all our members and visitors.  Integral in this process are aspects of sound and sight.  Our Audio-Visual Technicians help ensure that everyone can hear and see the worship at hand.  This includes CD and DVD technology, the use of visually-assisting overhead projectors, hearing assistance technology, optimal lighting arrangements, and our Service Recording Outreach Ministry – which provides a recording of the sermon for each Sunday morning and evening service.
